DSR’s ZBOSS Zigbee Stack Portfolio Sets Benchmark for Quality and Interoperability Standards

DSR continues to demonstrate its dedication to delivering top-tier IoT solutions by securing a Golden Unit (GU) designation awarded by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) for a third ZBOSS Zigbee Stack the ZBOSS Zigbee Virtual Device. This milestone underscores DSR's commitment to advancing technology and enhancing the IoT community. The principle that "a rising tide lifts all boats" aptly captures the essence of a GU. By setting high-quality benchmarks, these units elevate the quality of all future solutions tested against them. Solutions that earn this prestigious designation are recognized as leading references at test houses for future certifications. Newly developed products are benchmarked against the GU during the certification process, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance.

DSR’s ZBOSS plays an important role in the certification process by evaluating the expected behavior of devices under test (DUT) through rigorous testing, ensuring interoperability, and confirming conformance to specifications. DSR's portfolio includes three GU implementations:  

• ZBOSS Zigbee PRO 2023 2.4 GHz, is DSR’s Zigbee PRO 2023 stack which fully supports enhancements from Zigbee PRO 2023, including Zigbee Direct Device (ZDD) capability, which enables silicon vendors to integrate the ZDD, allowing product companies who utilize their chipsets to fully support Zigbee Direct.
• ZBOSS PRO 2023 Sub-GHz delivers extended ranges to cover more locations around a home or building, permitting new uses for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
• ZBOSS Zigbee Virtual Device allows product companies and app developers to integrate the Zigbee Virtual Device role into their offerings, enabling Zigbee Direct functionalities. 

CSA’s mission is to make IoT more accessible, secure and usable by creating and promoting IoT open standards such as Zigbee and Matter. In addition to developing IoT technologies, CSA offers certification programs through test houses, which shortens the development cycle with a certified solution. A key aspect of CSA’s certification process is the GU program. A product or platform designated a GU is deemed a leading reference implementation at testing houses during the product certification process.
